1. PRECAUTION

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
3. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL NO.3 COVER LOWER (24)
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL NO.2 COVER LOWER (24)
6. REMOVE STEERING PAD (24)
7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
9. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE
NOTICE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Installation
1. INSTALL OUTSIDE MOULDING
Using a heat light, heat the mounting surface of the
vehicle body between 40 to 60 C (104 to 140 F).
NOTICE:
Do not heat the body excessively.
Remove the tape from the vehicle body.
Wipe off the stains with cleaner.

INSPECTION
1. INSPECT WINDOW DEFOGGER SWITCH
Check the defogger switch illuminates.
Standard
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch
assembly or bulb.
Check the defogger timer.
Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery
to terminal 2 and ...
Warning light and indicator light bulb check
(a) Check the warning lights.
(1) Release parking brake pedal.
(2) When the ignition switch is turned to the ON
position, check that the ABS warning light,
BRAKE warning light, VSC warning light, TRAC
OFF indicator light (2WD) and SLIP indicator
light stay on for approx. 3 seconds.
