Toyota Sienna Service Manual: Power Slide Door does not Fully Open

DESCRIPTION

•  When the LH / RH rear window is open 105 mm (5.91 in.) or more, the slide door half-open stopper is activated to force the slide door to stop at approximately 105 mm (5.91 in.) from the fully open position.

  This is caused by the jam protection function between the slide door and vehicle body. A cable connects the rear power window regulator and the slide door half-open stopper directly. When the rear power window regulator operates until the opening reaches 150 mm (5.91 in.) or more, the rear power window regulator transmits a signal to the half-open stopper through the cable and then the stop lever is activated. This prevents the slide door from opening fully.

•  When the power slide door main switch is turned OFF* while the slide door is operating, the slide door stops operation.

  * OFF is the position where the orange paint on the top of the switch does not appear

•  Conditions that stop power slide door operation.

•  Power slide door main switch is OFF
•  DTCs B2223 or B2224 set
•  Fuel lid open (only LH side)
•  Touch sensor is open / short
•  With ignition switch ON, shift lever is moved into any position except P position

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1 CHECK REAR WINDOW POSITION

1. Check that the rear window is fully open or the opening is less than 150 mm (5.91 in.) (the slide door half-open stopper is inactive).

2 VISUALLY CHECK

1. Check that there is no foreign object on the sliding area that the door is moving.

3 CHECK OPERATION

1. Check that the slide door fully opened by manual operation
