Toyota Sienna Service Manual: Wiper Signal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The distance control ECU detects wiper operation. If the windshield wipers operate in the HI or LO mode, the cruise control is canceled and the warning sound "pong" is emitted once. In addition, the following warnings will continue until the cruise control main switch is turned off:

After HI or LO wiper operation stops, pushing the cruise control main switch to + (ACCEL)/RES (RESUME) will resume the vehicle speed set prior to cancellation.

Cruise control is available when the windshield wipers operate in the intermittent mode.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1 INSPECT WIPER SYSTEM

Check that the windshield wipers operate in HI mode.

OK: Wiper function is normal.

2 CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH)

  1. Disconnect the D2 distance control ECU connector and C12 windshield wiper switch connector.
  2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
